Maruti Suzuki hints at launching a compact SUV this fiscal year  At the recent launch of their new S-Cross crossover , the top officials at Maruti Suzuki hinted at the introduction of a compact SUV for the Indian market soon. The new product might be showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. Kenichi Ayukawa, MSI Managing Director and CEO, said, "Sometime in the future, we will launch a compact SUV which will raise our presence in the UV segment by a quantum leap. The concept of the compact SUV was presented as XA-Alpha. This will help us cater to an emerging class of customers who prefer SUV appeal while staying compact."   The upcoming compact SUV will be a sub four-metre vehicle and will be bulked up thanks to the heavy styling elements.
